BIOGRAPHY
Kenneth M. Carter, PT, DPT, MS, Cert. DN
Dr. Carter was born in Louisville, KY (raised in Southern Indiana), and attended Indiana University in Bloomington for his undergraduate studies where he was a 4 year football athlete for the Hoosiers. He attended Tennessee State University for his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
Following completion of his DPT degree, he practiced within the General Orthopedic setting treating all body regions. He decided to shift his practice concentration to the treatment of Orofacial and Spinal Pain. Dr. Carter has received post-doctoral training in the Rocabado method within the Craniomanibular Head, Neck, and Facial Pain (CFC) Certification track of the University of St. Augustine. He has also received additional training in the manual treatment of the full spine including Spinal Manipulation and Dry Needling.
Dr. Carter continues to stay up to date on the latest research surrounding Orofacial Pain and Orofacial & Spinal Disorders. He has primarily devoted his clinical practice to the non-surgical management of neuromusculoskeletal disorders of the jaw, head, and spine. Dr. Carter has lectured for the Alabama Dental Association, and within Physical Therapy Academic Departments
Outside of the office, Dr. Carter enjoys traveling with his wife, son, and their family dog. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with a background in Exercise Science, so he enjoys interacting with local high school and college athletes and coaches. Dr. Carter provides mentorship to Undergraduate and Graduate students who have an interest in pursuing careers within the healthcare and fitness field. Some of his hobbies include singing and writing music, reading motivational novels, olympic weightlifting and powerlifting, and currently relearning to play the piano. Dr. Carter and his wife actively attend True Divine Baptist Church.
